  • Workforce in motion: Skills and pathways to future jobs in the United States — Sep 29, 2026

As AI reshapes US work toward 2035, many workers will need to change occupations despite lacking clear transition pathways.

Soft hiring may reflect structural skill mismatches and weak transition pathways rather than a simple dip in cyclical demand.

  • Building expertise in the age of AI: Who trains the next generation? — Jul 14, 2026

As AI alters entry-level work, employers face the challenge of redesigning roles so junior talent can still build core professional judgment.

Entry-level hiring slowdowns may reflect a structural training and pipeline bottleneck as much as a pullback in overall labor demand.

  • What the labor market isn't telling you—yet — Jun 25, 2025

Headline labor data can appear stable even as underlying hiring flows, worker mobility, and on-the-job experiences shift.

Evaluating labor market health requires tracking underlying hiring flows and mobility alongside headline employment levels.

McKinsey has published no research directly on the counter-wellness trend; the links below provide baseline wellness and youth-behavior context.

  • The $2 trillion global wellness market gets a millennial and Gen Z glow-up — May 29, 2025

Millennial and Gen Z consumers are driving growth and redefining priorities across the $2 trillion global wellness market.

This establishes the baseline that counter-wellness reacts against, pointing toward category redefinition rather than a collapse in wellness spending.

  • Pacsun's Gen Z playbook: Listen, learn, and let go — Aug 27, 2026

Pacsun uses Gen Z insights and community co-creation to keep its brand positioning relevant.

  • Consumers don't trust AI advice. They turn to it anyway. — Aug 27, 2026

Consumers frequently rely on AI-generated advice even when they report low trust in it.

Because stated skepticism often diverges from actual adoption, analysts should track consumer sentiment and behavior separately.

Board #02 drops Sunday, October 18 at midnight

Four fresh calls. Remind me — add all four verdicts to your calendar

Methodology

How grading works

Each call is a frozen record: a one-sentence claim, a confidence level, a registered source with a written extraction rule, and a threshold rule. You move the assumptions; the engine shows the hypothetical grade for your scenario. Saving a call records your full receipt (your pick, slider assumptions, timestamp, and rubric hash) locally in your browser, and sends a single anonymous +1 (Agree or Disagree) to the public tally.

Official verdicts are computed by the same frozen function (gradeOfficialResult in verdict.js) on first-published values from the registered source. Revised prints do not alter a grade. PARTIAL means exactly one thing: direction right, required magnitude not met.

Integrity & sign-off

Call authors do not sign off their own grading. Sealed by the desk in single-operator mode. A second signer will be named before Board #02.

Corrections

Corrections rerun the frozen function on corrected inputs; the function is never rewritten. Corrections appear as visible errata, not silent edits.

Integrity

✓ Sealed · verified Board #01 · Engine verdict.js v1.0.0

What does "sealed" mean?

Sealed after publication. Published 2026-10-12T23:59:00-04:00; seal recorded 2026-10-13T16:50:23-04:00. The seal is a SHA-256 hash of this board's call configuration plus the verdict engine, recorded at seal time. The same frozen engine grades the official outcomes, and anyone can verify the current files match the sealed hash. The seal does not by itself prove the rules were unchanged between publication and sealing.

The ledger

Every call, every verdict, permanently auditable.

Open the ledger

Your data, plainly

1. Local Receipt: Your saved calls, slider scenarios, and timestamps live in this browser’s localStorage. 2. Public Tally: When you vote in Step 1, your browser sends only the call ID and “Agree” or “Disagree” to increment the public counter — no cookies, no IP logging, no identity, and never your slider values. If you change your vote, the update request also includes a simple true/false flag indicating whether the crowd tally was already visible on screen (aggregated as anonymous counts only, with no user identifier). Safari on iPhone can clear site storage on its own after about 7 days without interaction, not only when you clear browser data. To keep a record outside the browser, your pick and timestamp are embedded in the calendar reminder file and the “my receipt” link.
